Why
Why, I’ve been asked, “did you start a media company and what does all of this mean, Keith?”
Well, this deserves some elaboration, I suppose, so buckle your seatbelt!
Being brought up when I did in New York, I was, like many kids at the time, exposed to television, movies and what I like to describe as “visual storytelling”. Part of my early fascination where things like the news and shows across a wide spectrum, but always was mesmerized by things like 60 Minutes. It was their investigative reporting or storytelling that intrigued me and piqued my incessant curiosity. I felt they did a good job of conveying a message and often dug where many hesitated to go and asked challenging questions.
Time has passed since those early impressions, but what I’ve been unable to shake, is the imprint. People, culture, connection, relatedness….pain, suffering, pleasure, jubilation….triumph and more seem to enter my being and encourage me to dig into the human side of all of us.
What makes us tick, do the things we do, tribally each day, furthered my cause to birth this next chapter so we can explore it together.
So, here I am, about to embark upon a journey with you. What develops is unclear, but my vision and mission is to change the world in a subtle way and by all means, it started with me. Often in life we find inspiration in the most unique places- a mentor, a dream or an experience that moved us to consider the possibilities or a new direction. It was all of this and more.
The contest is and was a 360 degree review of moments in time and the fuel for why we are really here on the planet and in our society today. Whether or not we have or make time to connect with each other, is ultimately up to the individual, but if we go back to our roots, there is a treasure to be enjoyed, like when we were very young and truly alive. My vision for the contest is to spark that missing piece and find the good in all of us, as it seems we really need this now more than ever in our current evolutionary trajectory….don’t we?
After I sold my last company in 2007, I decided to learn more about the human condition and understand what is driving us and how to further helping people in their businesses, with my consulting company, SunHedge. While the renewable energy field is truly blossoming now, what about the folks that are struggling in the world? Where is their voice? What is their challenge? How can I help you?
Stay tuned to see this evolve further………
Aloha
